I am so excited that March begins this weekend, and that means that Spring is almost here! I long for sunny afternoons in the park, cooking out on the grill, and not having to wear scarves/gloves/two pairs of socks every day! So in my excitement, I decided to offer free US shipping on all items in my Etsy shop this weekend! And I listed my first Easter-themed item as well - those adorable bunny rabbit earrings up there! The lampwork glass bunny heads have beneath them some freshwater pearl "eggs" hidden amidst seed bead glass "grass"! Quite possibly one of the cutest pairs of earrings I have ever made, if I do say so myself!

Hello Neglected Blog -- It's Me, Janessa...

So this is the New Year... and I haven't been blogging! I'm so sorry I have neglected you, dear blogspot! I should have made a New Year's resolution to blog more often! But with all the wedding plans (got engaged Christmas morning!), graduation (I FINALLY graduated in January! Magna cum laude!), trying to find a job (don't get me started), and various Kindergarten illnesses (hello, strep throat!) I just haven't found the time to blog. But I am going to try to change that, starting now.

I've also been busy trying to vamp up my Etsy page -- I think my pictures are finally coming along! So far this year I have listed 30 new items, and only re-listed 3! I've got plenty more on the way, too! I am SO ready for spring -- and my stuff is showing it, with lots of bright colors.

On the painting front, I've got 10 canvases primed and ready to go (don't know what I'm waiting for). I recently purchased two large canvases on sale at AC Moore -- no clue what I am going to paint on them! Maybe some more abstract florals or other organics? Maybe a huge owl? Either way -- it's going to be fun!

And finally, I caved in and joined Twitter this year. I figured why not, what's wrong with yet another way to get distracted? Ha! Come follow me! http://twitter.com/lalalajanessa I have been tweeting about new listing, EtsyOwls news, and Handmade in PA news. It's rather fun, I must admit!

HOOray for Boobies -- The Etsy OWLS Celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In case you hadn't noticed, October has a new color trumping orange -- Pink! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so the girls of etsyOWLS decided to create some items and sell them in our team shop to benefit breast cancer research. 100% of the proceeds from these items will go straight to charity! This is a cause that means a lot to us, myself in particular, as my grandmother was a breast cancer survivor, and I have known many women and their families and friends, both directly and indirectly, who have suffered from this disease. We hope we have done the cause justice with our pieces.

On September 20, 2008, I participated in Coopersburg Community Day, in Coopersburg, PA. Here are the crafters, almost famous, on YouTube! I am the 8th crafter featured.

Also featured are some friends of mine... Jane of Contemporary Concepts Photography
was, basically, behind me. We were able to cut through the cars and keep each other company! She is the 3rd booth featured. And Erica & Nate of Urban Cottage Coalition
are featured booth number 29. It was Erica's first craft show, and she was very nervous, but her tables looked great and it was fun to have her there. Visit Erica & Nate on Etsy!

I love me a Fall Wedding!

Some News, Some Thoughts, and... a Treasury!

Hello lovelies! First thought on the agenda: I sell my wares at a store right here in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, called UnderWired, so named because it is located in the basement of the Wired Gallery on Main Street. And if you didn't already know that (shame on you), you should go check it out. Nowhere near me? Well, that could prove to be problematic, but in the meantime you can check out their hot new website . If you ARE local, get your booty over to the store ASAP and treat yourself to some vintage goodies, some of my jewelry, and maybe a coffee and a brownie (from Vegan Treats) up in the Wired Cafe before you go!

Second thought: If you haven't befriended me on Myspace, you better hop to it because the first Myspace Secret Sale is coming up soon! I can't tell you when because then it won't be a secret :) Locals have already missed out on a coupon to a venue I was selling at, and you could redeem yourself by checking
